Nollywood actor Junior Pope has passed away

Recent news regarding the tragic incident involving renowned Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo has stirred confusion and distress within the entertainment community. The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria has clarified the situation amidst circulating rumours of the actor’s death.

Junior Pope was involved in a serious accident on Wednesday afternoon in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, Nigeria while participating in a film shoot. Sources from Vanguard Nigeria have reported that the accident occurred during a boat journey that tragically capsized, leading to the drowning of Junior Pope and two other actors who have not yet been identified.

Emergency services swiftly responded, and Junior Pope’s body was subsequently recovered and transported to a local hospital. Despite his efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Emma Onyemeziem, the Delta State Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, has confirmed that the actor’s remains have been placed in a morgue.
