AKA Killers Finally Face Justice in SA Court

Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, extradited from eSwatini, made their first court appearance on Tuesday at the Durban Magistrate’s Court, where senior state prosecutor Lawrence Gcaba led the State’s case. The brothers were represented by attorney Sibusiso Dlamini and advocate Cyril Mlotshwa.
“This is the accused’s first appearance in a South African court after their extradition… There was a request for them to be indicted on three separate matters,” Gcaba stated in court.
In a chilling revelation, KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi disclosed that police have identified a key figure who allegedly financed the murder plot.

“That person paid the entire group after the job,” Mkhwanazi told journalists. “But he used his business bank account to transfer the money. We are investigating further.”
This adds a new dimension to the case, linking the murder to what police believe could be a larger financial network involving a prominent businessman.
Prosecutor Gcaba assured the court that human rights protections were built into the extradition process, with oversight from the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) to ensure fairness.
However, the defence team, led by advocate Mlotshwa, raised concerns about restricted access to the accused.
“Before the postponement date, we will visit them in the correctional facility. However, I don’t know if security will allow private consultation,” Mlotshwa argued.

Magistrate Irfaan Khalil emphasized that the accused had a constitutional right to meet privately with their lawyers and assured that security protocols would not violate that right.
The case has been postponed to November 25, 2025, giving the defence team time to consult with the brothers ahead of the next appearance.
As South Africans continue to demand justice for AKA and Tibz, this new chapter marks a significant step forward in uncovering the truth behind one of the country’s most talked-about celebrity murder cases.
