Police Launch Manhunt After British National Shot Dead in Robbery Attack
The Tema Regional Police Command has begun a full-scale manhunt for a group of armed robbers who attacked and killed a 68-year-old British national at a popular drinking spot opposite the Tema Community 9 Cemetery on Friday, November 7, 2025.

According to preliminary police investigations, the victim was in the company of friends when six young men arrived at the scene on two motorbikes. Two of the attackers reportedly approached the group, and one snatched the victim’s mobile phone from the table.
A statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs at the Tema Regional Police Command, ASP Dede Dzakpasu, revealed that the victim was shot after attempting to retrieve his phone from the robbers. The assailants then sped off on their motorbikes, leaving the victim critically injured.
He was quickly rushed to the Tema General Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police officers retrieved a 9mm spent shell from the scene, which has been processed as part of the ongoing investigation.

ASP Dzakpasu further stated that witnesses have been interviewed to assist the police in identifying the culprits. She added that the Command is working closely with the British High Commission to officially inform them of the unfortunate death of their citizen.
The police have assured the public that every effort is being made to track down and arrest the perpetrators to face justice.
