“As women, we must prioritize our health. Breast cancer is curable when detected early, and education is our strongest weapon. I’m grateful to our partners and sponsors for helping make this vision a reality,” — Queen Leticia Esinam Ankorah said.

Screening Results and Referrals

Out of the 40 women screened:

  • Two women presented with nipple discharges

  • One woman was found with a palpable breast lump

All three were immediately referred to the Tema General Hospital for further examination and management. These findings highlighted the critical importance of community-based screening programs in detecting early signs of breast cancer.

Challenges and Facility Limitations

Despite the event’s success, several facility challenges were identified at the Adjetey Ansah CHPS Compound, such as:

  • Lack of examination beds and privacy screens for proper clinical assessments

  • Uncomfortable benches without backrests, which affected elderly participants
