Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Bagbin has called on Ghanaians not to dismiss prophecies outright, cautioning that not every prophecy is false.

Speaking in an address that touched on spirituality and national awareness, Mr. Bagbin noted that prophecies, whether from religious leaders, traditional priests, or spiritualists, have, in some cases, proven accurate. He stressed the importance of discernment, urging citizens to critically assess and reflect on such revelations rather than ignoring them entirely.

While acknowledging that some so-called prophecies are fabricated for attention or personal gain, the Speaker emphasized that there have been genuine instances in the past where prophetic warnings could have helped avert tragedies if they had been taken seriously.

Mr. Bagbin’s remarks come amid growing public debates about the role of spirituality in national affairs, especially following a recent surge in “prophetic” messages circulating on social media after several high-profile accidents and incidents.
