The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has officially welcomed Hon. Ebi Bright as the newly appointed Mayor of Tema at a special staff durbar organized by the Assembly’s management. The event, held at the Assembly’s premises, gathered top officials, departmental heads, and staff to witness a new leadership chapter for the city.

In his opening remarks, Mr. John Nana Owu, the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, urged civil servants to uphold professionalism and align with the mayor’s vision. He emphasized loyalty, ethics, and dedication to service delivery as key drivers for a successful administration.
“Let us commit ourselves to the new leadership. Tema has great potential, and we must work together to harness it,” he noted.
Taking the podium, Hon. Ebi Bright expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome and laid out her vision to reposition Tema as a beacon of hope for Ghana. Her address centered on inclusive governance, community participation, and transparency.
“My leadership will be grounded in openness and partnership. I believe Tema can rise again as a model city, but it will take all of us — the staff, stakeholders, and the people — to make this happen,” she affirmed.
The Mayor’s commitment to inclusive development signals a strong focus on improving public services, engaging citizens, and empowering communities across Tema. Her administration is expected to prioritize innovation, youth engagement, and infrastructural improvements.
Also present at the durbar were Hon. Felix Subreh, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, as well as all Heads of Department and staff.
With Hon. Ebi Bright at the helm, Tema begins a hopeful journey toward responsive and visionary local governance.
