
Tragedy struck the Asawase F-line community in Kumasi on Tuesday night as the Kusasi Chief of the Ashanti Region, Abdul-Malik Azenbe, was gunned down in front of his home.
The chief, who also served as the head of the Kadi Divisional Area in Binduri and was recently enskinned as Kadi Naaba just three months ago, was reportedly attacked by two armed men on a motorbike around 8:40 pm. One of the assailants was said to be holding an AK-47 rifle and opened fire without warning.

Chief Azenbe was rushed to the Manhyia District Hospital and later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, but sadly, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe visited the family later that evening to offer condolences and assured them that a full-scale investigation is underway to find and prosecute those behind the killing.
