The Women’s wing of the Akatsi Gbalixorme Church of Pentecost in the Sogakope Area of the Volta Region donated several educational items and most importantly hygienic materials for the Zuta Basic School within the District.
This was done as part of the social responsibilities of the church under the womens ministry to engage the theming young girls in the district to educate them on basic hygiene that relates to females. Speaking at the event, the District Women’s leader emphasized on the need for these young girls to gain constant trainings in various facets of their development to help curb various social issues affecting the female child.
The young female pupils were taken through a series of simulations on Menstrual cycle, how it happens and how to keep one’s self clean and hygienic at all times during this period.
They were also educated on the girl child and what they can do to achieve the best of their potentials.
During the brief session, they were taking through the following;
Girl Child personal hygiene, menstrual cycle, why it happens, how to use sanitary pads, alternatives in the absence of a sanitary pad, proper ways of drying underwear during and after menstruations, Foods to eat during menstruation, essence of shaving and demystifying the myths surrounding menstruations.
The Women’s Ministry in the Gbalixorme District of the church encouraged the young females to take their lessons seriously and also stick to good moral practices which will help them attain greater heights like that of Francisca Lamini in the just ended National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
In attendance were the wing leaders from the various assemblies in the Gbalixorme District of The Church of Pentecost.
