Air Force Chopper With Dr. Omane Boamah and Hon. Mutarla Crashes

A Ghana Air Force Z9 helicopter with eight people on board has crashed while flying from Accra to Obuasi, military authorities have confirmed in an urgent press release.
According to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the helicopter departed Accra at 9:12 a.m. but lost contact with radar shortly afterward. “All efforts are being made to establish contact,” read the statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations.

The helicopter was carrying three crew members and five passengers. Their identities and the nature of their mission have not yet been disclosed.
Search and rescue operations are currently underway, and the military has assured the public that updates will follow as more information becomes available.
The Z9 helicopter, typically used for transport and medical evacuations, was last tracked over an undisclosed location. The GAF has called on media outlets to share the information widely: “For favor of publication, please.”
While the cause of the crash remains unknown, preliminary speculation points to possible technical failure or adverse weather conditions. Officials from the Jubilee House are expected to provide a press briefing later today.
This is saddening for a developing country like Ghana! May their souls rest in peace!
