There will be a new Alaafin of Oyo in due time as announced by the Oyo State Government.
This assurance was given to the Oyo State people at the eighth day fidau/interdenominational prayer conducted in honor of the late Oba Adeyemi at the palace arcade in Oyo.
Recall that the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti on April 22nd.

Sharing the fresh assurances with the people of Oyo, Governor Makinde through Chief Bayo Lawal, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Matters noted that he is enlightened that the people are agitated to see a new king.
The Governor assured them that when the process is due, the people who have a new king. The governor said; “People are eager to see the next king, but we have to follow due process. We promise not to compromise and another Alaafin will come in due time,”
